For some reason it only gets to 65-66%. Could this be because it needs to stabilize? If I also keep 2 pucks in there it will stay at 70%. I took the pucks out today because this tube should do the trick and it's at 66%.

A few questions. We'll get this figured out.
What are the dimensions of your humidor? Have you added distilled water to the beads so that roughly 80% of the beads are clear? Have you checked the calibration of your hygrometers lately?

1. are you sure your hygro is properly calibrated?
2. how big is your humi and when you do the math, is 4 oz. enough?
3. did you hydrate 70% of the beads?

Re: Why at 65%?

All of this stuff was ordred very recently and I calibrated the digital meter with a Boveda One Step Calibration Package. This is the humi:

http://www.cheaphumidors.com/Merchan..._Code=HUM-150G

Dimensions: 15 3/4” W x 10 1/4” D x 7 1/2” H

As far as the tube goes, I am not exactly sure how to humidify it because I can't see the beads. Should I open it and dump them out? Yesterday I put a damp, folded paper towel on top of it for about three hours and rotated the tube halfway through.

Also, thanks very much for the quick responses guys. These forums have been very helpful for me with my new found hobby.

The humidor calculates to just under 3 ounces so if you have the 4 ounce tube that should be plenty.

As far as the process for re-charging the Heartfelt Beads goes, the easiest is laying the tube on a dinnerplate or something like that and spraying the tube with distilled water. Let it soak for a few seconds then roll it over and repeat around the tube. Let it sit for a little bit then wipe off the excess with a paper towel. You will be able to see the beads change to clear even through the tube, try it you will see. I really discourage folks from removing the beads from the tubes, you can do it but they can go everywhere with very little help and they roll and bounce all over.

Thanks. I took the advice and now I am just waiting to see what happens.

Since I sprayed the tube in a plate as suggested the humidity has jumped 1%. I hope that when I wake up I will see 70%. Once again thanks for the quick replies BOTLs.

From the photos in the other thread, it is a round one placed in the vendor provided hole in the top tray.

Re: Why at 65%?

Did you season the humidor? If not, the wood from the humi could be sucking in all the RH.
