I'm telling you guys.....there are wine chiller fridges all over the country that don't work. It was the easiest humidor I ever set up & the seal is beautifully tight.

Re: Humidors

Those are some really beautiful humidors. If I wasn't such a cheap ass I'd pick one up. But I am, so I use coolerdors. I have a couple of nice 150 count humidors but I don't use them to really store much. Just put in a dozen or two cigars for quick access in those.

Re: Humidors

yeah, it looks a little grim, don't it? Hard to believe I've already dumped close to a grand on stogies since I got it and it still looks empty.

It's my wife's fault. wonder if she realizes what she did when she gave it to me.....I mean the humidor, dammit! ....perverts!

Re: Humidors

Cool thing is, just from posting that I got an email from someone who works at one of the above mentioned joints offering a solid discount on a humidor.

Glad I asked. Another small victory in the jungle.

Khat - that is exactly what I'm trying to find - but I can't seem to figure out where to find the borken ones. Got any suggestions? I have the day off, so i'm gonna try a few used appliance stores. Ebay, local classifieds were pretty much a bust. Lots of damaged units at decent prices, but shipping tacks on $125.

Ah the obsession - I mean thrill - of the hunt.

Try the "dent & ding", "surplus" & "discount outlet" type of stores. They get stuff in from shipping warehouses where maybe enough product was damaged in a whole truckload of stuff that the truck was refused & they sell to these kinds of distributors to defray costs.
If they don't have anything right now, leave your phone # & have them call you if they see what you are looking for. I would also just check in with them once in a while.
Another good place might be a restaurant supply business. If you are ambitious, have a pickup truck, a dolley & several strong friends, you might be able to pick up a stainless steel glass front restaurant refridgerator for not a lot of money.....look for something the compressor has been taken out of.
