Will the puck 50 do the job or should I get the 100?

50 will be fine....they work great so no need for overkill.

Here's a calculator for fidining out the cubic size (in inches) of your humidor. If it's anywhere near 1050, I'd get the big puck - you can't use too many beads.

Bigger doesn't mean higher humidity, just longer intervals between recharging the puck.

the humi is only about 400 cubic inches....but wouldn't it be better to get the 100 so you don't have to recharge it as often?

With 400 CI, the 50 will be fine....recharges will be few and far between once the humidity stabilizes.

True, but if/when he buys a bigger humidor, he'd be forced to buy a bigger puck. The 100 will recharge faster after you open the lid, and it won't require you to upgrade when you buy a bigger humidor.

Yea but if I get a larger humidor I'd want to keep some cigars in the smaller one as well....so I would need to get another humidifying device anyway.

I use a 50 and 100 in my 150 ct humidor. It keeps everything right on or around 70%. For some reason it took almost six months for my pucks to actually work how I want them too, but now that they are they seem to be pretty solid.
