Re: Humi Fan 101

yep, or even less.
i ran mine for only 5 minutes most of the time, with a couple 10 minutes mixed in (digital timer worked great).
i'd rather have mine under humidified than over.

Re: Humi Fan 101

Well the thing im trying to avoid is for all the humidity to stay at the bottom. Ill play with the timer and voltage and figure something out. Thanks again!

See this thread

I found some flat (0.004" thick) speaker wire online that you can probably snake under the lid. I just haven't been able to motivate yet.

Alright i got it all wired up and it works flawlessly. I just need to get that timer. Anyways i used Krazy Glue toglue it to the back of the humidor. It smells like crap in there now, but thankfully theres nothing in it so its wide open to vent. Hopefully i didnt screw anything up

Re: Humi Fan 101

Thanks MocoBird! I just did this modification for my Vinotemp to help circulate the humidity around inside. I used two small fan and bought a fan splitter with connectors to run off the AC/DC converter and they work great. One fan is pointed down at the beads on the bottom and the other is pointed upwards to circulate the air up and around...

Great Write up. Thanks for the great pics and information. I just went digging through all my junk. Found everything I need except the connector. My cooler is about to breathe a little better.

Your fan info was top notch and exactly what I was looking for. I already have a CO XL and a Hydra w/extra fan forward to only cycle as hydra does. I also have 2 lbs of 65% RH beads in 3 bags. Here is my question. I would like to run 2 fans off the same adapter cycled at a low speed. Do you think it would be better to run the 2 fans in a series setup or a parallel setup as to not overwork the adapter?

Re: Humi Fan 101

My setup from Moco's suggestion. I scavenged my fans from a cool pad my laptop sets on. Bought from Tiger Direct for 15.00. 3 very quiet 12 volt dc fans. My setup is I have 2 from the cool pad and the one that came with the Hydra fan kit. These are all hooked in parallel with the 2 on the bottom and the Hydra fan attached to the top shelf of my Towerdor. I run all 3 for 15 mins every hour and a half. Lower and middle RH 65% with top @ 67% with recently calibrated Hygros!

Wonderful!!
