Whenever I add another cooler to the collection,
I take out in the yard, scrub it with 409, rinse thoroughly,
fill it with water and let it sit for a day, empty it and let
it sit in the sun for another day or two.

I scrubbed mine out with Oxyclean, then filled it with water and Oxy and let it sit overnight. Rinsed it out real good the next day, let it dry, and it was good to go. It's worked on 3 so far, maybe a fourth sometime soon (buy big coolers!)
