Humidor Question!

I'm having a problem with my temperature to humidity control ratio. My humidity is perfect, (a good 68 degrees average). Although, my problem lies in the temperature range, (an average of 27 degrees). Obviously WAAAAAAAY too low! I store my humidor in my well insolated garage where the temperature is an average 60 degrees. My cigars are tasting great. There moist as they should be but as we all know, they taste better at the correct temperature to humidity ratio. Can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thank you in advance.

sounds like they are tasting great, so I'm not sure what the problem is... well besides the unnecessary use of bold type.

when you say 68 degrees (humidity), I assume you mean percent. which is actually a little high for the temerature IMO. I guess my question is, what are you using to get these temperature readings? if the garage is an average 60 degrees, without refrigeration your humidor should eventually get close to that as well.

Re: Humidor Question!

Is it set to Celsius? If so that's like 80 degrees Fahrenheit

Yes, I meant percent. I usually keep it around 65 to 70 percent. It's not a problem getting that correct. It's just the temperature. I figured it would catch on to the garage temp but it's not. I'm using distilled water and once a month, maybe twice; I put in the humidifier solution. What do you thinks goin' on? Thank you for the response by the way.

Re: Humidor Question!

You say the temp is "way too low", so do you mean 27 degrees Fahrenheit?

Re: Humidor Question!

If they are tasting great then no issues. 60 degrees is very desirable for some, like for long-term aging or in the summer 60 is very nice. Just go with the taste. Less science and more art.

You know what? Your right. Thank you for the advice. They taste fine so why fix something that's not broken! Thank you.
