Bead storage options?
Hello,
On average, most of my buddies own 75-150ct sized humis, and I have a few questions to pose to the community to get a general consensus and some feedback. What do you put your beads in, and is any particular storage medium easier or harder to recharge the beads? I'm just ordered a ton of RH beads from Cigarmony (as always, incredible support and faster-than-I-thought shipping, thanks again Mark!), and I'm debating as to how to store them in the humis. Vipers bead tubes seem ideal, but I'm wondering how easy it is to recharge and visually see if your beads need recharging through the tubes? With my current mesh bag setup, seems pretty easy, but tends to take up more room than I would like. Consensus? Also, do you tend to split up and put beads on each level of your average sized humi, or keep them all in one bag? Thanks for the feedback. - Garilla

Re: Bead storage options?
Just had this one the other day:
Gosh Darn Beads I use both the mesh bags and the tubes. A spray bottle works well for charging/recharging... you can hold the tubes up to the light and tell how wet they are. You don't need to separate them, just try to keep them about 60% wet and 40% dry. |

Re: Bead storage options?
I'm copying and pasting my answer from the thread right next to this one:
For my desktop humidors I cracked open the humidifiers that came with them, removed the green foam and replaced it with beads. I used fine mesh to line the humidifiers so the beads won't fall out the slots. (I basically made a bag from the mesh and put the bag of beads in the black plastic humidifier.) Then I put put the humidifiers back together with super glue. For my big Igloo I used a pouch made from black panty hose filled with the appropriate amount of beads. They have been working great for 2.5+ years. John This is a partial answer to your inquiry. Just how I did it.
