Humidor + Beeswax?

I have a 50 count desktop humi that has a bad seal. I was wondering if putting beeswax around the seal (where the top and bottom meet) is a good idea. Will this help the seal? Will it damage the humi in any way or affect the flavor of the cigars in any way? Any help would be appreciated.

I tried something similar. I had a bad seal.

The problem with beeswax is that it is not easy to use. It requires 140 degrees fahrenheit to melt. It cools almost instantly when you remove it from the heat, so it gets hard very fast. This means it doesn't smooth out easily. You'll have to sand it down to get it smooth (the bumpier it is, the less seal you'll have). Also, once it sets, it can be hard to shave off portions with a razor blade -- it comes out in chunks.

It won't affect the flavor of the cigars, but you have to be VERY patient to use it.

You can also go to home depo and pick of some foam or vinyl door seals.
