Difference between 50/50 and 80/20

Whats the difference between the two types of solutions and what are the benefits/disadvantages of each?

Don't bother. Get humidity beads. www.cigarmony.com to get beads or search for "The Puck", or www.heartfeltindustries.com for some beads and he has some tubes and things.

Both are members of the forum and have excellent service.

Thanks for help guys. Truth is I have the beads, I was just curious with my question and wanted to know what the difference was.

I was told by Tampa Humidor that the owner did a lot of research on this. He found that a 50/50 solution gums things up. This doesn't happen with a 80/20 solution. As far as regulating humidity at 70%, 80/20 works just as well as a 50/50.

I would wager that 80/20 is also cheaper to make as distilled water is much less expensive than the PG.

Whar exactly gets gummed up? I use the 50/50 and have no problems.

With an 80/20 solution what would the outcome be? 50, 55, 60, or 65 % humidity?

It would be 70%, just like any water/PG solution.
