incorporating beads in a travel humi
Well I just got this new 3 ct travel humi today and, as you can see from the pics, it came with that little plastic piece with foam in it as a means of humidification, which is attached by velcro to the inside of the cap. Since the bottom of the plastic piece was glued shut and I wanted to use a small amount of beads for humidification, can anyone help me out as far as what would be the best thing to use for incorporating beads on the inside of the cap? Can I buy a little plastic piece from home depot or lowes and stick some velcro on that?
Thanks for the suggestions! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: incorporating beads in a travel humi
You should be able to pry it apart, remove green foam, clean it out, cut a piece of screen so the beads don't fall through the openings and fill her up and snap back together. Velcro if ya have to back in place.

Re: incorporating beads in a travel humi
If you really want to add the beads, I think the suggestion above would work.
Personally though, I would just add a few drops of distilled water to the foam and you should be good for short term storage. Not sure what advantage, with the beads, you're looking for? |

Re: incorporating beads in a travel humi
I use the humidity sheets which fit perfectly behind the foam. Couple squirts of DW and I was good for 12 days.
I heard the one that comes with it will ruin your cigars. |

Re: incorporating beads in a travel humi
unless you're in a desert area & planning on storing you smokes in there for a few days, you probably don't have to worry about humidification-i have a 3 finger plastic case too, & have never needed extra moisture-i do keep 60% beads in it though to keep the sticks from getting damp (i live in a high RH area)-a pc sized tubo would work for a bead case i think

I'm with RPB67 here. Not sure you need any type of humidification for short term use. I would just use a few drops of DW if anything.
