Humi cooling/humidity
I was just wondering...I have a 50 count desktop humi and to keep it cool in the summertme I use a wet washcloth on top of the humi with a plastic in between to protect the wood. The temp does go down, but usually the humidity goes up. My hygrometer is a Diamond Crown digi and is mounted on the lid. My question is, do you think this cooling method actually brings up the humidity in the desktop or is it just affecting the hyrgo because it is on the lid? Thanks for your thoughts and sorry for the long post.

Re: Humi cooling/humidity
try a blue icepack wrapped in a small towel and put plastic on top of the humi for protection

Re: Humi cooling/humidity
when i 1st started using blue ice, i wrapped it in a towel & set it on the humi in a cooler-it cooled the interior of the humi down so much that condensation (a film, not drops) started forming inside the glass top-maybe this is what's happening to yours?-i solved the problem by sticking a small wooden box inbetween the ice & the glass top-still cools down the cooler that the humi's in & no film of moisture
