Your Very Own Pocket Protectors
While I hate to bring up the existence of 40-cent cigars in a forum dedicated to the pursuit and worship of the Perfect $20 Stick ("Who? Us?"), a number of pretty good cheapos come in plastic tubes (and I can't reasonably recommend the glass or metal ones for this).
And this trick does not, of course, protect your pockets so much as it protects what it's got in its pocketses. If you're leaving your Preciouss Smoking Cornerses to visit plebians or sit outside the Mall, put your Perfect Cigar(s) (minus cello, and pre-cut and -poked, check the draw before you leave) into a used Cheapo Tube(s) of reasonably-close diameter and maybe cut to length. And if some Nauseating Plebian or Temporal Emergency interrupts a Good Smoke under any circumstances, cut off the coal, blow the smoke out of the stick, and put it in a used Cheapo Tube until you can make the proper obeisances to the remainder. |

Or you can use the tube from a tubo, which will seal a lot better and also has some cedar in it for humidification.
