Re: 77 degrees --Too hot?
I'll go against the grain here and say that 77 isn't too hot. If it were, then anyone that tried to age a cigar in Cuba would have nothing but crumbles. I don''t think that they don't have ice or air conditioners.
Be extremely careful with the heat and humidity combinations - higher temp, lower humidity because the warm air holds more water. I have a closet that stays at room temperature - the closet is lined with 1inch spanish cedar. It stays at 65% and 74 degrees. I have never had a problem. Not a single one.

Add the Dominican Republic and most of the Caribbean and South America to that list. I guess I'll eat my words someday when the beetles eat my whole inventory but I'm not lucky enough to live in a place where constant 70 degree temps are possible. I may try the freezing thing one of these days. |

Re: 77 degrees --Too hot?
In the summer here in NY my Humi's get into the high 70's and I haven't had any problems over the years. I'm not home for up to 16 hours a day, and can't justify leaving the a/c on when I'm not there. I probably just jinx myself and will go home and find a humi full of dust.
