$12 at walmart, i saw SST ignition and assumed it meant nothing less than space shuttle type.

However, it's not as simple as click it and it lights, you have to baby it and pull slowly to let butane run out a few seconds before you can ignite.
Overall, quantum SST ignition doesn't impress me.

I Bought it. I threw it away shortly after for the exact reason you stated. You have to baby it to get a flame.

Right. This is one of the colibris I have, and it works great. You have to use good fuel - otherwise you know what they say - garbage in, garbage out.

.......or you go to the same walmart and pick up the 3.00 ronson jetlite and watch it burn on anything, hell it would probably run on the fumes from kerosene if you could get it in the lighter.

my ronson has been goin strong since i got it. i took it to the beach, got sand in it, and it's still goin. my colibri, on the other hand, is totally inconsistent and has to be coaxed into firing up.

I wish mine still carried them. I can't seem to find a Wal-Mart around here that still stocks the Jet-Lite. Shame, too. I threw away my last one thinking I'd just pick up another, instead of refilling it.

Re: Colibri Walmart lighter

I've got two of the WalMart Colibris and several of the Ronsons. The Ronsons are way better and 1/4th the price of the Colibri.

They cost a little more than Wal-Mart,
but you can buy them here.

Re: Colibri Walmart lighter

Depends on which Firebird you have (there are quite a few of them) and if you followed the instructions on filling... My wife had one version that kept running out of fuel way to fast, found out it was due to the fuel tank on it being so small. She now has a Colibri Quantum Legacy lighter and loves it... Mine is a different Firebird model (the Vista) than she had and has worked great for the 3 months I've had it... And when it starts to get low I just go back to my B&M and they refuel it for free

Re: Colibri Walmart lighter

I bought this same one at Walmart and couldn't get it to light once. Worked well if you started the gas flowing, then lit it with another lighter.

Don't waste your money or butane on this steaming pile of crap.
