Ever Torch Lighter Review

Let me begin by saying I've been a die hard PB-207 fan since getting one and have recommended it to everyone. Recently Pete (replicant_argent) had a thread on some lighters that I hadn't seen before. Intrigued after laying eyes on one, and wanting a lighter a bit more nice and sleek compared to the robust PB-207, I decided to give it a shot.

It arrived yesterday, comes in a nice sturdy case. The first thing I noticed upon picking it up is that this lighter is not only beautiful, but sturdy. It had very good weight to it and didn't make me feel like I could break it by looking at it the wrong way like some lighters do. Flicking the top open with my thumb, I was pleased by the awesome "ping" sound, reminiscent of an S.T. Dupont or other high-end lighters. Then the best part, and major selling point for me, was the ability for this lighter to have both soft flame and torch. It worked great for lighting, and its more forgiving and less intense torch worked perfectly for touch ups. I will still use my PB-207, especially in outdoor situations or when I don't want to risk getting this pretty thing all scratched up... But the Ever Torch is a great addition to any cigar smoker's arsenal.

For the price, this lighter is hard to beat. I would have no problem recommending it to anyone.

PROS:

-Price
-Sturdy
-"Ping" Sound
-Soft Flame and Torch Capabilities
-Uses Flint
-Calmer Torch Makes Touch Ups Easier
-Sleek Design
-Limited Lifetime Warranty
CONS:

-Some Colors May Show Fingerprints (use microfiber cloth to clean)
-Won't want to use in situation where it could get scratched (hunting/fishing/yardwork... like a nice watch)

Case

Here it is (sorry for reflection)

Had to give a Mac plug

I am very glad you are pleased, Jim. I am looking at doing another round, possibly in a different format, and will let you know. (I know Tony wants one in the Bling Camo version.)

Awesome lighter and nice review, thanks. Where to get and what to pay, please? I didn't even find anything on google. Love how they copied to the flame and refill solution from Dupont.

Yes, these lighters share many similar qualities as an S.T. Dupont. However, i'd say it's more "inspired" by Dupont instead of being a clone or knock off. As far as finding them, you can check out this thread http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=142696 or if there aren't any colors you like left PM replicant_argent about his next sale.

Re: Ever Torch Lighter Review

Thanks for the reply, James. I will wait for the second round 'cause the one I would like was sold already. Looks like this is a really nice product. Were you able to find out what makes the ping sound? In the Dupont there is a little tongue of metal in the cap. I suppose that is what makes the ping. I guess it is some kind of spring that serves to open the cap.

What is the weight of this lighter?

Yes, there is a tongue of metal in the cap. They are heavy, when packed in the dress box for shipping, I think they are very close to a pound total, if that gives you an idea.

Re: Ever Torch Lighter Review

One pound. That's impressive. Must be one hell of a heavy box. I just weighed my Dupont. It comes in at 112 gram. That's a quarter pound (just for the lighter).

Please PM me when you get another shipment. A black simple lacquer version would be nice. Not that I need another lighter...

I don't have one yet, but the thing I like about this lighter is you can use it for both cigars and for a pipe, b/c of the dual flame. It also looks very nice.

Re: Ever Torch Lighter Review

I've held this thing in my hand, & I gotta say it's pretty impressive. I just wish I could find the one that you got King James. The shop I frequent here in Birmingham started carrying them, but.... They can't seem to get the brushed silver one. Retail on them here is $60, so I'd like to get the one I want.

BTW- The "ping" to me sounds more like me hitting my driver @ the range than a Dupont.... But still sounds pretty sweet IMO. If I can find the one pictured, it's as good as bought!
