West Coast Cigars in CA.

You can call and ask if we still have it, tell whoever that Darrell sent you. I don't work the next week due to being on vacation, but one of the others will take good care of you.

Re: Xikar 3 finger travel case?

I went with the Cigar Caddy 3400 from CH when I bought mine. Used it once, and love it. water tight and indestructible. Only $20

Besides, if you're getting a 5 finger case, I can't see how that would be a comfortable pocket size anyways.

Re: Xikar 3 finger travel case?

As Darrel pointed out, get a finger case, they may hold only up to about a 56 RG, but they hold even one cigar tight. Xikar lets cigars "splash" around. Plus, well made finger cases are more air tight.

Re: Xikar 3 finger travel case?

If you want a great 3 finger case the get a Le Tube cigar case. I have a bunch of cases including the Xikar one but I tend to reach for this one the most. It is not fancy but seems to work great and it has humidification in the top if you need it. The websites below is just as a reference because I have never done business with them. The leather ones are nice but this one just seems to hold about any size cigar and keeps them well protected and I dont have to worry about it ig I drop or loose it because it is cheap.

Re: Xikar 3 finger travel case?

XIKAR has cases for both instances:

quick travel (Envoy leather/cedar case)
http://www.xikar.com/product_case.asp

longer/tougher travel (US made travel cases)
http://www.xikar.com/product_humidor_travel.asp

THESE badboys are awesome and will NOT release plastic smells if you leave them in a hot car all day...others will.

Re: Xikar 3 finger travel case?

I have NEVER had mine smell of plastic. Just like I have never had any of my other cases with foam inserts like the Zero Halliburton smell like foam rubber. It looks like the Xikar large travel case is made of plastic also???? I also NEVER leave mine in a hot car all day either especially with cigars in it.

With that said Xikar makes a nice case and I own one along with many other cases. Each style case has its place. A airtight plastic case is great for outdoor activities like boating, golfing, etc. Expensive leather cases are nice for going out on the town.

Cases are like cigars with lots of options and choices. I dont smoke one cigar and dont have one case.

Re: Xikar 3 finger travel case?

Love my Xikar 3 finger case. Since i bought it a few years back, I have never even entertained the idea of needing a new finger case. And it goes a lot of places and fits nicely in pockets. Hard enough to withstand some rough handling and looks great too. You'll love it.

For as short a period of time as they are going to be in there you don't need any humidification. You'll be fine.

Back to the original question, I have both a leather 3 finger case and a plastic 5 cigar case. I use them for totally different things. If I'm going over to a friend's or something I use the leather case. Classy look. If I'm traveling I carry the hardcase for protection. I also use it on the boat because it is waterproof and it floats. I need to get a 10 cigar hardcase and I think I'll be all set.

You hear that Xikar?

like what Rizzle said, I don't use any humi device b/c they are never in there long enough. I don't use this case as a weekender, only for day trips. Otter box is what i use for anything overnight or longer.

Re: Xikar 3 finger travel case?

The Xikar got here yesterday and looks great! The leather is incredible and the case seems impossible to squash.

Easily fits normal size cigars and can be coaxed to permit 60RG!
I am a bit afraid closing it though - I am afraid I will crush one side of the cigar. Also, the internal cedar isn't the most aromatic.

I will be bringing it down to the lake with me tonight and we will see how it performs!
It does look like I will be picking up an otterbox as well for longer trips.

I just picked up one of the "Le Tube III" (made in the usa).
I didn't want to drop $50 for a case, so this one filled the ticket nicely.
The lid stays on securely, it's tough plastic, and unlikely to crush even if sat on. Small enough for a breast or back pocket.
For $10, easy choice.
