Re: Heartfelt Beads

Those pre-made containers are great. I was redoing my humidors recently with all the new additions and decided to dump all the bowls of beads and order the 65% bead containers from heartfelt. They fit where the foam humidifiers would have gone so no space is taken up by humidification anymore. Worth every penny.

I forgot to order a small 60 percent tube for my 20ct so I ordered that last week plus a bunch of accessories. I like to keep a small selection of cigars on the main floor so I don't always have to go to the den in the basement to get a stogie.

Re: Heartfelt Beads

I opened my sponge type humidifiers and replaced the foam with beads, works great. Ive done this with three humidors, the humidifiers hold just the right amount of beads.

kinda curious, how do those tubes work? like how are you able to mist them, do you just open and end, pour some beads out, mist then shovel them all back in?

Re: Heartfelt Beads

Ordered some tubes and beads today and like always, got a same day shipping confirmation.

Heartfelt has always provided me top service and I will never shop anywhere else as long as this continues.

Personally, I open one end and look for white beads. If they're white I spray DW into the tube until about half are clear. Probably a better method, but this works for me and I never move much from 65% rh.

I read in a thread that spraying beads will cause them to crack and break, but never had this happen to me.

I mist mine using distilled water in a spray bottle I got at an Osco. The only problem is that it is difficult to see how wet the beads are. At first I tended to oversaturate the beads, but lately I've gotten better at it. I like the idea of the tubes but there are other methods/configurations that probably work better.

Just spray them a bit, wipe off the excess and put it in the humidor.

For those of you who do not know I live in a very remote part of arctic Canada and I placed an order with Dave which was shipped the same day and got here in only 7 days from Nevada which is almost not possible.

Needless to say the product is just super and the service is second to none. Order with confidence.

No need to open them. Misting takes too long so I do a quick dip of 1/3 of the tube into distilled water. Easy as can be.

Re: Heartfelt Beads

Just got my Heartfelt 70% bead "puck type" humidifier today. I followed the instructions on filling a bowl 1/8" to 1/4" and put the puck in face down. After leaving it there shortly and monitoring it none of the beads where changing so I jostled it around a little and all of a sudden all the bead started turning clear LOL. By the time I got it and shook shook the excess moisture out *all* the beads were clear rather than the 80-90% recommended. So, I just blow dried it a little on low heat and at a distant from the puck.

So far my humi is reading 71% steady - that could also be the digital hydro being off 1%. I just hope adding too much water doesn't detract from it's ability to remove humidity if it starts going over.

Very nice product though, so far I'm impressed.

Thanks, hadn't thought about that. This way I know exactly what % I"m getting wet (or at least a lot more accurately than spraying).
