Re: Ronson JetLite Torch Lighter

I bought two of these and neither one worked worth a crap. I gave them away.

I bought 4 or 5 of these at walmart, but I've only had to take one out of the package, been going strong for 2 years now.

CVS also sells these, but you have to ask clerk for them....they get stolen quickly so they keep them behind the counter....Cost there is 4.25

You mean like this?

Even the copper color is starting to wear away on mine. Still lights on the first click every time.

Re: Ronson JetLite Torch Lighter

To whom it may concern.... if you're having issues getting your Ronson (or other piezo igniter) to light properly, try angling "sparky" slightly upwards, away from the burner. I did that with mine and afterwards, what used to take 6 to 10 tries getting it lit now lights 99% of the time on the first try. Give it a whirl.

Re: Ronson JetLite Torch Lighter

I've been looking for over a month at several Wal Marts, and I can't find one anywhere! I was going to order directly through Ronson, but they charge $8 for shipping per lighter.

I have a couple of nice lighters, but my friend has a Ronson and I absolutely love using it. Very reliable and durable.

Re: Ronson JetLite Torch Lighter

How exactly do you "bleed" one of these? I bought more butane to refill it, followed the instructions (set to low, upside down, press firmly in for 4-5 secionds, wait 2 minutes before using), and when I do use it, it doesn't light for a good 30 minutes or so. Anyone else having this problem?

Take a small allen wrench or a straightened paper clip, hold the lighter upside down and press the (improvised) tool into or onto the fill nozzle of the lighter. You should hear hissing as the fuel comes out. Do this several times until no hissing sound is heard, then fill with butane as normal.
