Re: Bóveda One-Step Humidor Seasoning Kit

Now I know reviewing a product like this is not held to the same ethical standards as reviewing grants for NIH, but the same principle applies. I am certain that he was only trying to help others out with his post, as was Dave .... unlike your unrelentant torrent of unmitigated drivel.

Somehow your drivel is worth something though? Listen, the same principles do not apply. Where did you get that? This whole thing is stupid, except for Dr. Stogiefresh's original post - that was my point. You chill out, you " ".

Did you not read the friggin' review - very informative. Do yourself a favor, and the rest of us too, and take a look at the information in an objective way, instead of spouting off about some illusionary moral dilemma, which appears to exist only in your head, based on the nature of the stated relationship between Dr. Stogiefresh and boveda. Better yet, before that, review the product yourself and then give us your oh so enlightened view of things. You're just making an unfounded assumption about the personal character of Dr. Stogiefresh, as, from what I can tell, you know neither him nor the people at Boveda. What the hell do you know about the validity of the information; nothing, I'm going to venture. If you do know something of value, make a comment about it instead of something about which you know nothing. Please quit stifling reviewing members (at the risk of sounding hypocritical, I say this, as I am trying to stifle you.) As far as I can tell, you are just a prejudiced MF, who hasn't lent anything of value to this site by your comment, here. If the truth of the information can stand alone, just let it be. We don't need your "every point of view" or complete transparency approach, which you seem to think is going to somehow change the information presented, based on your assumptions. Instead it just quells the spirit and enthusiasm members like Dr. Stogiefresh bring to this site.
One thing I've loved about this site from the first time I saw it was the kindness of the people. For the most part; when someone has a disagreement, it is handled with respect and dignity. It is not handled like little a little kid fighting and calling names on a playground. I can understand you having a problem with something that is said, but to act like that, and be openly combative and hostile to anyone on this board, much less such a respected member....I got one word for ya.....DING!

And yes I read the review. A question for you. Have you ever seasoned a humidor? Do you know the logic behind doing so and how people typically do it? What is missing is the alternatives and the "is this worth it vs. the basically free one"? The real question is did you read the review and understand the hidden funny? The LGC humi is a limited release humi that comes full of cigars. It’s quite nice. The cigars are not my thing but… If you don’t get the point here on why this might be a lil funny then … well I’m not going to explain it. (And I was nice enough not to point it out).

I expressed my opinion, in what I thought was as genial way I could. Interesting that on the day we celebrate MLK Jr's life that you bring up the word prejudice. I take offense to have the term used in describing me or my actions. If you knew me you would not have used that term to describe any part of my life. Call me an Ahole, call me almost anything else and it's cool. That ain't. If you cannot operate with a sense of decorum here then feel free to post elsewhere. I made no assumptions merely stated fact and opinion.

The Doc promotes his site here. That is a known fact. Thus far I have limited my comments on the subject. The links to Stogie fresh in his sig line would be cause for harassment on many sites. The site owner and mods are tolerant here of most things. I commented on this particular review because of the sponsor link on his site. Getting free stuff or discounts in exchange for reviewing products or services is fine for posting things on his site. It's his site. This is our site. Placing reviews that are purportedly objective in our forum when there has been a commercial or personal gain involved is in my opinion .... wrong without disclosure.

P.S. Doc. Sorry didn't mean to have this become such a big deal I like reading on your site.
I think I seasoned my humidor. I did my best anyway: with a light wipe-down and a full humidifier. I'm glad you seasoned your humidor with a glass of water or some such.

As for you being prejudiced, that goes toward the overall tone of your and jgros's response - you know "we think Dr. Stogiefresh can't be objective, based on our opinion." The review wasn't a comparative and it doesn't have to be. The information was very good and I don't like to see you or anyone else stomping out others contributions to the site.

The tone of my message was indignant and I apologize for offending you guys, but I stand behind my message: Instead of hassling Dr. Stogiefresh on this review, just chill out.

I think I'll stick with plain old distilled water. 24 hours has worked so far in both of my humidors.

I never metioned how I season humidors in this thread. Have done so many times in others. If you are curious [Search] is a wonderful feature here.

I think you are now referring to 抱有偏见的,有成见的,有偏心的. Which is a given and perfectly acceptible.

The term prejudice was the only offense taken. The rest? Hey, we are all entitled to our opinions. Most of them are unsolicted, free and undiscounted. A few of them are even right.

Lets review:

1. Reviews are tainted if there is a conflict of interest.

2. There was a conflict of interest.

What part of this is difficult to understand?

Perhaps I could provide instructions for you to dress a caribou with a 1" Swiss Army knife ... you might find value in that as well.

There was no conflict of interest - there was just factual information.

Did not say the good doctor can't be objective...READ. Remember the old commercials, "reading is fundamental".

Sorry to Dr. Stogie that his review turned into this - I thought we were having a pleasant discussion prior to the interruption by the guy (or should I say little boy) in the tower.

I love the ignore button.

It might be time to just ignore this guy - maybe even close the thread?
