Re: Distilled Water
It's best to drink steam distilled water, not RO or "purified" this will give you the best, cleanest water that can be had.
as to the leeching of minerals from your body this can be true in one case...if you never eat anything else... otherwise this leeching effect of water on the cells of your body help flush out contaminants from your cells and then passes out through urine. this also helps digestion, circulation and oxygenation of your body. so any reasonable diet, and distilled water is a very good thing for you. and you can make it yourself... here is the unit i use: http://waterdistiller.com/ there are tons of great units out there but this cheap one makes enough for me I try to drink the better part of a gallon per day, and it really makes a difference in how ya feel....just try it! like the next time at your gym drink distilled water before and during a workout... |

Re: Distilled Water
Does anyone know what's in the Glacier Mist refills?
I've been using Glacier Mist in my little Acid humidor. The refill says it has an algicide which prevents mold. I can't imagine something that evaporates that prevents mold. Is this for real? .

Drinking plenty of water is good for you. Any water, really, but yes, the purer the water, (without drinking ultrapure DI water) the better it is for you. Distillation is NOT purer than RO water, choose what you would like to believe about leeching of minerals and such, but short of hyponatremia, you will not have any kind of medical condition caused by drinking RO water versus distilled. Distilled water is fine. Distilled water is very pure. Reverse osmosis, with a good unit, makes purer water than distilled. As far as feeling better before and during a workout, staying hydrated will make you feel better, whether it is distilled water, RO water, diluted juice, gatorade, propel.... whatever.

Re: Distilled Water
I`ve been going to the joke threads for a laugh. And only learned why the chicken crossed the road. This was a much better waste of 15 minutes.

How can you tell if your distilled water has gone bad?

Re: Distilled Water
DI Water shouldn't go bad. Just leave the cap on. By leaving the cap off the bottle, you could introduce contaminants. The amount of contaminants would still be minor, though.

Minor contaminants? Mold, pollen, bacteria, dust, uh....... If your distilled water is in question, chuck it out and spend another 69 cents at the grocery store.

Re: Distilled Water
Oops. My mistake. Too early for me.
Yes. I do still think that the amount of contaminants is small. Those things are in the air at all times. No way to avoid it. I don't recommend leaving it open. I do agree, though. For less that $1, just buy another jug and be done with it.

If it's hanging out with a rough crowd?
![]() Shake it up and fill a clear glass about 1/3 full. Swirl the glass and look for particles floating in the water. If they rise to the surface, it is probably air bubbles. If the stay suspended or sink to the bottom, you have bugs growing in the water and it has gone bad.
