Palio Cutters--I'm sold

I just bought a Palio (faux) carbon fiber cutter.

I was using a $10 double bladed cutter and after having it for a few months, a number of the screws had fallen out. I thought it cut okay, but compared to the Palio it's not very good.

I'm shocked by the difference. The Palio cuts through cigars like butter. The thing was worth every penny.

Guys, if you don't have a good cutter, I'd highly recommend that you buy one of them.

Re: Palio Cutters--I'm sold

Thanks for the info, I ordered a Palio last week from Heartfelt - should be here any day now.
**EDIT** Got mine today, looks like I'll get to try it out this evening!

I noticed my cheapo cutters seem to 'struggle' sometimes in cutting and I've cracked a couple caps, looking forward to getting a REAL cutter.

Re: Palio Cutters--I'm sold

I've been waiting & waiting & waiting & waiting to buy a Palio from a feller on here and I'm tired of waiting for the guy so I'm just going to buy it from my B&M. I was between the Xikar & the Palio but after much research the Palio seems to be considerably better.

You seasoned Palio guys out there...any difference between the heavier metal ones and the lighter carbon fiber? My guy has a brown one and a carbon fiber one and I'll likely just take one of those...

All Palios are made of the same material. The Burl and Carbon fiber are overlayed with a tape which simulates the finish. The Gold, Silver and Black, the composite(?) material is actually colored. All are the same weight.

FWIW I got my from Heartfelt--they're on sale. I went to my local B&M's but none of them had any. I'm not sure if they sell metal ones (shrug).

Re: Palio Cutters--I'm sold

Thanks fellas; you know Bob, when I held a metal one that a BOTL has, it felt heavier but it's been quite some time since then and holding the carbon fiber. Thank you for clearing up my confusion!

I'm really happy I bought one several months ago! I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I too got my Palio Original Composite Cutter from Heartfelt. It cuts like a champ!

I also got a Xikar from the devil site for $21 bucks.

Re: Palio Cutters--I'm sold

I have a Palio, Xikar, and a Davidoff. I have used the Davidoff for about 12 or so years, and it still works great. However, the Palio is just light years better. It's incredibly sharp, and feels good in your hand. The only thing I don't like about the Xikar is that you cut side to side, not up and down.

Talking Re: Palio Cutters--I'm sold

I have a few costly cutters, and I find that if I want a cigar I will cut it with a weed eater if thats what's closest
But a cut is a cut, I have a 3 buck cutter that cuts fast and smooth as any around..
I just say cut the MF'er and pass me a light!
