Re: Any Knife Cutters Here?

I use a knife quite often, I never seem to have cutters where I need them. I use a standard Buck knife, and if you've bought one you know they come razor sharp. Like the OP, I just score the cap then flip it off. Works perfect every time, as long as the knife is sharp. I've also used some Wusthoff cooking knives, again very sharp and score perfectly.

Re: Any Knife Cutters Here?

i have been a knife collector all my life. My grandpa would always give me pocket knives when i was little and my best memories are of sitting on the porch watching my grandpa and even my great grandpa whittling out different items.

i always carry a pocket knife and this is the only thing i have used on cigars, i must say that you need a very sharp edge or you can damage your cigar.

Re: Any Knife Cutters Here?

Wow, and I figured I was just not doing it right when I see all the fancy cutters. I have always used my knife and just score the cap and it comes right off.
I keep the edge sharp, as any knofe should be kept, and have no trouble with it. And I don't have to find/carry another cutting device. The few times I used a cutter, they mangled my cigar. They were cheap ones and probably not sharp.
