Not sure how "long" we're talking...but in my opinion it's just another gimmick to cut your cigar. Takes a little work and some patience to use properly. You don't just snip off the cap, you have to work your way around, slowly, almost peeling the cap off with the scissors.

I like the regular cigar scissors. A little skill is required, but not much. A great formal way to cut cigars at the table.
