Harbor Freight Micro Torch
I stumbled upon these at a local harbor freight store (they sell cheap tools): Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices
It is similar to the roburn micro torch I have: http://www.puff.com/forums/vb/access...cro-torch.html It is exactly what it appears - a cheaper version of the roburn. The orange valve control at the top controls outflow of gas. It goes from way too much (to the point of the flame sputtering wildly) to off. Good point is it serves as the off switch so if you don't have to hold a button on to keep the torch going. The robun has too switchs - an off switch and a gas control switch - obviously a better design. I am happy to keep my roburn in the kitchen and this new cheapo out in the shed/garage. You can order them off harbor freight direct for $14 ($7 + $7 shipping). Mine cost a little less than $8.00 w/tax and I can send them first class for about $3.00. It is a little bit of a drive and I am not going back specifically to get more. But I picked up 5 extra if anyone wants to give them a try - otherwise I'll return them next time I'm out there.

Re: Harbor Freight Micro Torch
I've used the Micro-Torch for a while now for on the deck or in the garage. It doesn't use up the butane as quickly as you would think, and it's a heck of a lot quicker to light up you cigar. I got mine for $4.99. It's not as pretty as some of the other torch lighters, but for the price, who cares! As far as the sputtering you have, I don't have that issue at all. There is a little air control valve, in the middle of the torch, just behind the little coil on the nozzle. If you turn that, it will adjust the amount of air introduced into the fuel source and you should be able to have a better burning lighter. Hope this helps!

Re: Harbor Freight Micro Torch
It is bright orange in color but it does the job. I used flat black spray paint on mine and it looked way cool for about 4 years until it finally died one good day.

Re: Harbor Freight Micro Torch
I gave my harbor freight torch away. I didn't like the way you have to turn the thing off. Just my 2 cents.
