Re: Any experience with this humidor?

I bought the 3000 Cigar Tower from cheaphumidors. It is a well constructed middle of the road type humidor. I feel like I got my moneys worth. Their prices are good and the service is excellent. I have not had experience with the glass etchings though. Hope this helps.

Re: Any experience with this humidor?

Pompeii is a good model as long as you don't have any sizeable temperature fluctuations in the room where you keep it. Also, you want to avoid placing the humidor in direct sunlight as the glasstop offers little protection.

I know a place where you can find this humidor cheaper.

I hope you aren't referring to YOUR site as you are 5% MORE expensive with shipping.

Yes! I did not buy from CheapHumidors.com. Please don't interpret that to mean I think negative of them, I have no experience with them. They have a good reputation around this site...anyhow...

I recently bought this humidor, it looks very nice and the construction seems solid. I was happy with it from the initial looks of everything. However, when I was seasoning it ,I did have an issue. There was no gasket to seal the hygrometer to the humidor. When I would shut the lid the air pressure would push the hygro out of the humidor. I contacted the vendor and I had a really bad experience trying to get the part shipped to me. So much so that I sent the humidor back. I just don't see how they skipped that part.

In all honesty, I really wanted to keep it. I could have fixed myself, but I was treated so rudely I did not want that company to keep my money. Again that company was not cheap humidors.

Nice to make your acquiantance. My name is Jeremy. I am the owner and proprietor of prohumidors.com. I have offered a 10% discount to board members since the first day I signed up to cigarlive.com. So yes technically I do sell that cheaper, although admittedly not by much. Sorry you are having a bad day. This economy is undoubtedly hurting humidor sales.

Nice to meet you as well. Actually the economy hasn't affected cigar/humidor sales at all, if anything I think people are staying home and smoking more. At least that is our experience here.

Re: Any experience with this humidor?

Count yourself among the lucky few. I opened my doors in Jan so I don't have the historical data to speak as to whether this is a down economy for me. I have recieved a very warm welcome from the cigar smoking community and the members of puff.com and cigarlive.com. But speaking from other experience in the software, insurance, and healthcare industries I can say for certain that you are very blessed if you aren't experiencing any sort of slowdown. It is sad to see how many entrepeneurs are losing their shirts right now.

Re: Any experience with this humidor?

Just so you guys (The two in particular that were going on about their prices), we have a very nice and roomy Retailer-Profit-Sales section of the site. I only say this because some (including myself) are really interested to know about this humidor. Besides, a lot of humidors can be found for less than either of your sites offer them, even cheaper than the 'cosmetic defect'/ 'imperfects' ones (since you wanted to bring pricing into it).

Apologies to be certain. I've been a member/moderator on cigar boards, although not this one obviously, since 01. I guess old habits die hard. Its hard to think of myself as a retailer now.

Re: Any experience with this humidor?

I'm not a big fan of humidors with externally mounted analog hygrometers. I think it's kinda stupid to cut a big hole for a useless hygrometer that they know doesn't work. Just another place to leak moisture.

I worry that that the hygrometer will fall out and break. Then, you have to spend money on another piece of junk just to keep it sealed.

Otherwise, it is a nice looking humidor, and I would have no reservation about smoking a cigar that came from it.
