Carlito's Stogie Nubber

Since we introduced Carlito's Stogie Nubber on Cigar Live last year, I am wondering if any of you guys have used it or done a review? The product is still out there and going strong, and, would like to have your feedback as a cigar accessory.

Re: Carlito's Stogie Nubber

While I dont own one I will say the same thing about the stogie nubber that I feel is a downfall to other nubbers I have used.

It should really have TWO needles on it. this prevents the cigar from wanting to pinwheel on the nubber and holds it much steadier. its that reason i often use my protractor set from drafting more often than anything else.

just a thought!

I bought one at the Ybor Cigar Festival in November. I tend to leave it at home, though, as I don't generally nub my sticks.

Re: Carlito's Stogie Nubber

Hi Chuck,,,you know that I love this thing since I bought one about 6 months ago or maybe even longer. This thing makes "nubbing" very easy. I wouldnt have any other item like this in my arsenal,,easy to use, it stays put in the cigar as long as you aren't playing with it while smoking it. It is meant to hold the cigar in place but if you can't sit still and use your tongue to flip it around any cigar will pinwheel on you regardless if it was on a drill bit. Like I said before on your site,,one of the best inventions since the wheel.

Re: Carlito's Stogie Nubber

Just got mine from Tampa Humidor. Construction appears to be top notch, except the label on there is already peeling off. If it gets worse I will just remove it, but looks like it might be a pain to remove.

Tried it last night, did pinwheel a bit but I just kept one finger on the stick and it was fine. Felt like I was using a roach clip, lol.

If I use this in public I'll bet it'll be a real conversation starter.

Not trying to lose a sale for the stogie nubber, but I read somewhere about someone using one of those corn skewers that has a plastic handle that looks like a corn cob. Two tines on those. That would be ideal.

Re: Carlito's Stogie Nubber

Call me cynical, but this product always sounded like the solution to a problem that nobody has. I assume from the post that nobody performed any market research BEFORE making the product.

Were talking about cigars, not joints. I don't see the need for a glorified roach clip. If I just can't get enough of a cigar then I'll light up a second one...or some other cigar I also enjoy. Besides, you could make the same thing for free with things you have laying around the house. A cork with a sewing needle, a thin nail, a bbq skewer, coat hanger, etc. If I was really determined to smoke as much of that cigar as I possibly could, I'd put the nub in a pipe and finish it off completely.

It could make a nice giveaway, like with any purchase over X dollars. But I would never BUY one. I'd rather spend the money on cigars.

But that's just my opinion.

sorry, but got to agree with this guy. admittedly i rarely want to nub a cigar, but i do find that when i do, i can always find something around the house to use.

that said, with cigars like the Nubs/dpg firecracker/miami knuckles nubbers do come in handy, since you already have such a short smoke length to begin with.

I love the idea about putting the nub in a pipe to finish it off. I'll have to give that a go!

Re: Carlito's Stogie Nubber

I have the stogie nubber, and I agree with the notion of..it needs another metal piece, so the cigar doesn't spin.
