Thumbs up Xikar Cutter

My Xikar X-2 cutter arrived from the Devil last week. I chose this cutter for several reasons. Good reputation, lifetime guaranty, price, and most important of all no finger holes. I have an issue with numbness in my hands and thick fingers. This cutter has a mat finish composite body that's easy to hold in the palm of your had, not slippery. A firm squeeze makes a clean cut. When I registered the warranty I found out Xikar sends you a free case. Missed that before purchase. Very pleased with this purchase, its the perfect cutter for me.

I have sevral cutters including an Xikar. I Ihave the least expensive model (paid around $30.00 last year). I think the only functional difference is that mine has plastic parts as opposed to more exotic materials. The cutting blades on the other's I looked @ seemed similar.
One piece of advice I can offer to get a cleaner cut is to moisten the head (the end that goes in your mouth) before cutting. This avoids splintering of the wrapper especially @the lower r/h levels that the bro's here (& I) like to smoke their sticks @ (I try to keep my humi @ 66-68%). I just put the cigar between my lips & twirl it around before cutting. Actually, I usually don't cut my cigars. I'm become adept @ "biting & spitting" the cap. Perfectos are a diffent story, I cut them.

Re: Xikar Cutter

I have a Xikar Xi Cutter and I love it. I haven't been smoking cigars long but in the short time I have one cutter already broke apart. I initially bought it because it was cheap but that wound up leaving me without a cutter for my cigars while out of town on vacation. I came home & immediatley purchased the Xi based on reviews I read about its durableness. So far it has performed flawlessly!

Re: Xikar Cutter

To me these are the luxury cars of cutters. I have had my Xi for a couple years now and absolutlely love it. In addition to being a great precision tool it is always a great conversation piece when out an about.

Re: Xikar Cutter

I have had mine for a couple of years. Last month it broke, I sent it to xikar and they sent a new one in two days. Now that is service!

Re: Xikar Cutter

How timely. I just spent an hour looking at Xicar's ( decided in the Xi2 ) and then see this thread. Good to see some confirmation. I've used the scissor style cutters for 16 years so this will be new to me.

Re: Xikar Cutter

it is just a great product, I really like how heavy they are, I've used many kinds and just always go to my old green plastic Xikar (they make a great punch as well)
