Cool Cylinder Humidor

I have noticed that you can buy cylinder humidors at a lot of the stores on the web lately and I have found a pretty good replacement for them at about a 30% -- 50% price deduction.

If you go to your local food store you can find the same type of cylinder that is used for the humidor but the only difference is that they won't come with any sort of humidifier system, I have found them at our local Wal-Mart for around $10.00 to $15.00 and you can get them in two differant sizes.

The larger one will fit Toro up to Churchill size cigars nicely and the smaller one will fit robust up to corona size smokes nicely.

They will be in the food department part of Wal-Marts if you want to look for them.
You will have to do a little fabricating to them but I feel the money you save on buying them is worth the work needed to make them into a humidor.

Enjoy the Ride. GO RED WINGS

I had some jelly beans that came in one of those containers. It's been my travel humidor ever since. Until my next shipment arrives from Taboo that is...

I bought some of the round style humidifiers that are out there and Velcro it to the lid of the cylinder.

It seems to work just fine, the only thing is I don't have a hygrometer in the cylinder to check the humidity level but I suppose there is a way to use the small round digital hygrometer that are out there for sale and attache it to the cylinder some how.

They seem to stay at a pretty good humidity level so I haven't worried about them drying out or getting to moist.

Re: Cylinder Humidor

I see these a lot with pasta in them, especially around the Christmas holiday.
