Davidoff customer service SUCK!!!!

A few weeks ago Volt bombed me a very nice (and expensive) Avo punch



2 days after I got it, my dad comes over, decides to take a closer look at it. He didn't know it was a twist mechanism and pulls on the puncher. He didn't even pull hard, but the plastic in the mechanism breaks.

I asked Michael (Volt) to get in touch with the dealer to see if there was warrenty, and the answer from Davidoff was no. They even had the nerve to ask if he needed to know the nearest Davidoff dealer. What were they thinking? That I'm gonna spend money on a company with such a crap customerservice?

I could understand their point of view if force was used or if the punch was years old, but it is a brand new one and it was pulled very gently.

**** Davidoff & Avo. I have some Avo cigars in my collection, they will be bombing material, I refuse to smoke them anymore.

I'm in agreement with you that if they don't take care of this matter they suck as a company. Every other company stands behind their product that don't have the same money or clout that Davidoff has and here they are telling people that there is no warranty. In my world when I shop for anything,,,,NO WARRANTY NO PURCHASE.

It is definitely crappy for a business to provide zero warranty service on their products. It kind of makes it look as if they are just going on reputation alone.

We got in touch with Davidoff, and they said "screw you, give us more money". That's when I decided to post a rant on the several boards where I post.

I am on the phone with them right now. Ok the guy says there is nothing on the box about a warranty. A lady answered the phone but when I asked the question I was soon talking to some guy. I told him which punch and he looked on the box, don't know if he looked in it. He said if it was a manufacture defect they (Davidoff) would replace it, but not if it was dropped and ran over by a car. If I was you I would still try and get a replacement. Hell it could have came like that.

I think this is where the "dis connect" comes from as Davidoff is not looking to take care of the customer as much as they appear to look for an "out" such as suggesting if it were dropped or run over by a car. By even suggesting this they are looking to get out of any kind of warranty implied or suggested. This does not set well by me because we're not talking about a Mom and Pop cigar shop,,,this is Davidoff for crying out loud and if they are looking to escape not taking care of this type of product then it leads me to believe there is a lot of other "stuff" they will try and pull. I've tried their cigars in the past and for my tastes I'm not impressed and with this story in tow it only reinforces what I already feel about them.

Not trying to threadjack or take anything away from what you are saying Frank,,,but it's this kind of company BS that ticks me off. They need to stand up and take care of their product,,period.

I tottally agree with you Gary.

Every good company will stand behand thier product. After 2days and it broke; should be an automatic even exchange. You send broke one they send you a new one. Thats poor CS and makes me not want to try thier products.

I dont think there should be an issue taking the cutter back...


Xikar takes them back and takes care of the customer, as does Palio..they dont say well if it got ran over its your issue..they take care of the customer and I for one wil not buy from Davidoff after this...

Also - here's a story why I am sticking to Xikar...
One of my slim cutters had rust mark. I wanted to trade it in but I was deploying to Afghanistan in 8 days. I called and spoke with the lady and she had a new shipped out the nest day on good faith that I was sending mine, as I had registered my cutter with them anyhow. Three days later I had my new cutter and it went with me on my deployment. Done deal.

What really sucks is that this Avo cutter was a gift.
