Re: Henry's "Special Edition" Tools - Update

THANKS, guys for your confidence in Henry's tools sets! Temperatures are beginning to drop here, Henry stoked up the woodstove for the first time this year, and he's down there in the work shed making up handles. Photos are soon to come.

There's an updated reservation list below... But FIRST, another "Henryism":

Re: Henry's "Special Edition" Tools - Update

MY Apologies, guys!

We're LATE on posting a photo of Henry's Special Edition sets.

Henry has been in fits over trying to get embossments "right" (though they'll still be imperfect, hand-hammered handles).

Photos of Doc's set (#01) will appear tomorrow night. Henry makes NO APPOLOGIES on this. Protective coats are curing.

A "Henryism":

"You get what you get... You got what you wanted... SHUT UP and USE THEM!"

Re: Henry's "Special Edition" Tools - Update

If possible, please add me to the list.

I would love to be the proud owner of a SEset of tools !! I was gifted a set by "Doc" last month and have already used them a couple of times.

To have a set with my name on them........

Thanks,

Put me down for a set, they would match my burl humidor nicely. I have learned two things about Henrys tools since joining CS:

> Didnt even know draw tools even existed prior to joining CS and reading your threads about Henry
> Didnt know I needed them until I almost inhaled a whole Consuegra trying to get some sort of draw!

Our sincere apology for the delay in posting a photo of the Special Edition Set. Protective coats (after embossment) and cure time on the handles is a bit frustrating. Gift boxes have not yet arrived. But please be assured that we WILL come through with ample time to spare before the Christmas holiday.

ANDY,

Duly noted. An updated list of reservations will appear below.

PLEASE understand that these are NOT "machine-made" tools. Henry uses an old set of embossing dies, an old brass jeweler's hammer, and "taps" in the embossments. The result is imperfect (as you will see from photos of Doc's set)... But each set is one-of-a-kind. That's how Henry does things.

OMOWASU,

Your reservation has been made, and we will PM you for particulars on the embossment.

Funny... I never knew that such a tool existed until Henry verbally thrashed me for trashing a plugged stick! Since that time, I've "saved" dozens of cigars. And, as I've mentioned before, the tools have become as "essential" to me as my lighter and cutter. I don't "like" having to use them... But when the occasion requires it, I'm sure glad I have them!

An updated reservation list appears below.

Kurt,

You're in, and you're on (please see updated list). 50 of the Special Edition sets is just about the threshhold of pain for Henry this year. We had off-and-on snow squalls nearly all day. Henry stoked up the wood stove in his work shed this morning, and he's been fussing with getting handles finished the better part of the day.

PockyP,

Cindi will post photos ASAP. The gift boxes should be here no later than Monday. Confirming PMs will go out to those on the reservation list early next week.

YES... I suppose you might consider the Special Edition Sets "collectors" items. But I think that for Henry, it's more just a little something special he wanted to do for those who've already found value in his Classic Sets.

After his wife passed, Henry went into a sort of nose-dive. It wasn't until we suggested that he offer his sets to CS members that he found a sort of "purpose" in getting on from day to day.

Henry is a LONER... He's not much trusting in strangers... But since we convinced him to allow us to offer his tool sets via CS, and since he's read some of the positive response, he's become a "Happy Loner."

ROB,

Thanks for the reservation (please see updated list below). Please remember that the "reservations" are NOT binding agreements, except to say that we are trying to keep accurate chronological track of CS members who've expressed an interest.

It seems that Henry's going to be quite busy for at least a few weeks just keeping up with his promise on 50 SE sets. That's okay! Henry's happiest when he busy!
