New S.T. Dupont Xtend DuoTones - Hot or not?

As I've apparently become the Queer-Eye Carson of this foum I might as well start a threat about the new range of Xtends. S.T. Dupont has made a special duotone finish models available. As far as I know, there are only two duotones in the normal Xtends: purple and black. Xtend Minis have a pink duotone model as well.

As I'm already in the midst of finding a "partner" to the up 'n coming Palio Carbon Fiber to make a set these new duotones are certainly options (and yes, I'm going to get Xtend). Originally I planned to get the Xtend duotone purple to make it a set with Xikar Xi3 Spectra which was my top choice for a cutter but as I'm now completely crazy about getting a Palio I'm not so sure anymore. On the other hand, the silver/purple finish of the duotone purple might look cool with Palio Carbon Fiber but then again Xtend melta matte might offer a less flashy and more colour-co-ordinated set. Decisions, decions!

One thing that puzzles me is is the finish of duotones more like the glossy Xtends or more like the matte Xtends. This may be the deciding factor as apperently the glossy Xtends scratch more easily and gather more fingerprints. On the other hand, the new Palio Carbon Fiber and the new S.T. Dupont Xtend DuoTone purple might truly be a "killer combo".

What do you think about these new duotones?

The Duo-Tones are glossy (supposed to be arriving soon) and will show scratches like the glossy solid black ones might if you carry something like car keys in the same pocket.

I think that the matte black x-tend would be nice combo for the carbon finish Palio or even the James Bond Ltd Ed X-tend (Black-20127N) but then again, I'm no "Carson"

Hope this helps.

I think the duo tones are Very sharp looking and If I were to get one id probably get the chrome/black gloss duo tone, that looks sweet. However I just purchased a black PD6 and i cant wait to use it. maybe I will ask for an Xtend for christmas
