Otterbox 05 Count - Review

This case just arrived and it looks fantastic. Put a few sticks in, zero movement. Looks like you could set a bomb off on it and it wouldn't phase it, yet it's nice enough to take to the pub with friends. It has a small humidifier inside (haven't owned it long enough to test it but can't see an issue with it). I can't see me owning another travel case (except possibly the bigger model ) and this one will probably outlive me anyway!

Just a pitch for Mark at www.cigarmony.com Transaction was smooth (one minor hiccup that Mark took care of before I even noticed it! That's service!) and it got here nice and quick. I got my eyes set on a Palio cutter and I won't hesitate to buy it from Mark.

Re: Otterbox 05 Count - Review

yeah, i love my 5-ct, but it's time to upgrade. i've been gettin in the habit of taking it with me to cigar shops, so i can just pop them in and take them home. i do a lot of travel for work, so these cigars shops could be hundreds of miles from home.

and when my humi is too full, this little guy comes in handy to protect my overages. they're air tight, so a cigar could be left in there for days (weeks?) if left undisturbed!

These are great, you know they seal well when you go to open it and the top and bottom are stuck together somehow (possibly lower pressure in the case?) and it feels like you need a crowbar to open it.

Yep, especially when flying.

There is a small notch in one side for you to place a dime to pry it open. The larger count humidors have an air release value just for this.

Hope this helps

one thing i learned from my 1st travel humi, don't put too much water in the element, the sticks get damp real quick-now i use beads & put a couple drops in-works great

Re: Otterbox 05 Count - Review

I got a 5 and a 15 from cigarmony a few months ago and they are both perfect for their purpose. The weekend vs the week. I was out with my buddies and they were joking with me about the overprotective box and I commented from the add that you could drive over it with a car. They challenged me and I gave it a chance. The locks popped, but the case held up fine, and still works great. (I did remove the cigars before my test.) Great case and ciagrmony is the best place to pick them up.

depending on how long you're gone, you may not need ANY water/beads in there. at least, that's how it is with my 5-ct over a week or two trip.

Re: Otterbox 05 Count - Review

I dont use any humidification device for day or two day trips.

In my 32ct I had the Puck in there just in case of a prolonged trip.

But for the 10 or 15ct. The cigars will last a week in there as is without a problem.
