The Burner by Alec Bradley

I just recently purchased a box of the MAXX from Famous and they have a pretty good deal going.
Besides the free shipping they throw in the Burner, a very nice little tabletop
lighter.
So last night I thought I would try it out in the doghouse(my garage).
The pictures I have seen of this made it look big(to me), but it is really small.
Bout 3 in. high.
On to the preformance....
I filled it with Vector 5x filetered fluid and let it set at the recommended 2 min. to stablize, it has a a valve on the bottom, but what is really cool you can control the burn via a knob you turn on it!! Turn the knob and pull the trigger style striker a bam!! You have a flame that you can REALLY control the height and temp.! Great for toasting and touch ups, and best of all, you don't have to hold a button or trigger after the inital strike, just turn the knob to the off position and the flame goes out.
Anyway, Famous says this is a 69.99 value(I would'nt pay that much for it), but it is a nice lighter and it keeps me from packing my other lighters outside and risk losing them.
Just thought I would share.

I was actually going to make one of these things to light my cigar but they came out this wonderfully handy and effective things. I just love it and will be sending one to a friend of mine. It was actually hard to find at first because of the ubiquitous name.

Yea, when I saw the ad, the lights looks HUGE! And then when I really saw it, I was surprised at how small it is. But all in all, it's not a bad deal - how was the MAXX? I've been curious about that cigars.

Re: The Burner by Alec Bradley

I received one as a gift about a week and a half ago.

What impressed me the most was the big broad lower temperature flame (that is compared to the temperature of a torch lighter) that made it so effortless to get a very easy, even burn on a cigar.

I'm gonna enjoy mine! Not sure I'd spring $45 for another one (at least that's the price I'm seeing from a few vendors, CI incl., BTW), but I will take it with me when I'm herfin' with the homies.*

*Hear that you S.H.I.T. Herfers!! I'll be seeing you Saturday!

I just got one from Famous last week. It has turned into my favorite lighter. Nice big blue flame. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good tabletop lighter.

The MAXX is a good smoke, I like them after about a 6 month nap. Seems to bring out the flavors better than when they are "fresh".

The B&M near my apartment has one out for customers to use. Great lighter, I love using it when I'm there. If I were allowed to smoke inside, I would pick one up in a flash.

The Burner is my favorite table lighter. I love the wide blue flame that thing puts out.

Re: The Burner by Alec Bradley

The only negatives IMO are.....not wind resistant (won't go out but will blow all over the place) and you can't see the flame outside. Which is why I toast my sticks inside before venturing out and take a standard size torch with me.

My wife has been wanting a creme brulee set for a while now. I found her a nice one at a good price at World Market. The only problem is that I have now commandeered her creme brulee torch as my new lighter!

My buddy has one of these burners. Freakin' sweet. I often ask him to bring it over when we're going to have a cigar.
