A Shout Out To A True BOLT

I just want to shout out a true BOLT. Earlier last week I posted a new thread entitled "What's in a name" (www.cigarlive.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6615) in which I mentioned some Pepin cigars that I have yet to try. One of the cigars was the 601 maduro. A week later a package arrived from Rob (aka bobbyg29) with a 601 maduro, a san cristobal and a sol cubano maduro. The other two I have been meaning to try as well. I have already formed a liking to the sol cubano sumatra. Rob must read minds too. Anyway thanks Rob ... I'll let you know what I think.

PS. Please forgive my crappy camera.

I got to that EO 601 maduro tonight. Made short work of it with my new palio cutter. If you guys don't have one, get one. 35 bucks is a small price to pay for a lifetime cutter. Perfect cut every time.
The cigar lit right up no problem. It has to be the smoothest maduro I have ever had. The ash was perfect ... It held until almost half way through the cigar. I only let the ash go out of fear for my own safety (I had a bad experience once lol). It had a nice dark chocolate/ cocoa taste throughout, without ever getting bitter (which alot of maduros do). I paired it with a nice cup of black spice tea which worked out well.
The hints of spice mixed with the cocoa give me a nice cinnamon like taste at points. It burn perfect. The burn line looked exactly like my cut .. straight as can be. I ashed twice period, that's how strong the ash was. The draw was a little tight for the first third, as expected from the box press. I've only had one box press that drawed free from the start, the Oliva serie G maduro. Once the heat rounded it out the draw was perfect.
As expected the Pepin construction looked look it came out of a machine. Pepin can sure build a cigar. Great smoke from start to finish ... smoked it until there was nothing lefted and it never got too hot to hold. And you got to love that label. Thanks Rob!!! Loved it!!
I guess now I can add this one to Pepins that I enjoy. The nearest B&M to me that sells them is an hour away. lol. So if there's anyone that knows an internet spot where I can get a 5 pack let me know.
