Griffin's Special Edition 2007
Last night I attended the Griffin's tasting event at Charlie's. I haven't had a Griffin's cigar in at least 3 years. I smoked a Classic Perfecto and bought a box of the Special Edition 2007. Some of you know I love my Zino Platinum's and these guys are supposed to be similar. I'll have to let you know after I smoke one...
 As a special bonus, I won a kickin Griffin's cutter in the raffle. This bad boy is very well constucted, and coated with Ruthenium (element 44 on the periodic table in the Platinum group). It looks black in normal light, but as you can see from the pictures it has a purplish hue when light hits it. The Davidoff rep told me Ruthenium melts when it is within 2,000 miles of the sun, so I have to remember not to take it with me on my next star trek. It took three of us a couple of minutes to figure out how to work the darn thing. There is a hollow tube in the middle, and each end is a different sized spring-loaded punch. I had been meaning to pich up another punch cutter, so this was great. The timing was impeccable as well: I had just finished telling Cody (mongo) how I never win anything, when Larry (Larry2127) walks out and hands me this box. A very good night indeed! |

The cutter is pretty solid, but not too weighty. All-in-all, it's a great addition to my cigar paraphenalia! Used it on an Illusione 68 yesterday, and it was perfect.
