Pinar P2000 Pre-Embargo Cuban Torpedo Natural (5.5x50)

Glenlivet French Oak Reserve 15 year (My favorite Single Malt)

Not sure I believe the hype as far as the Pre-Embargo Cuban part. I had heard mixed reviews about this cigar. So far I must say I like it. Plenty of flavor and a wonderful sweet aroma.

Even cardboard would taste good with that 15 year old Glenlivet. I am not saying the Pinar is a bad cigar I am just saying that everything goes good with 15 year old Scotch!

Since brown liquor and I don't get along, I'll comment on the Pinar.

Whatever tobacco they are using, I found it to be a very good cigar. I went to one of their events here 1.5 yrs ago, where they brought a roller. Smoked a couple of them that night, and bought a bunch more. I think I still have 4-5 of them left in the humidor sitting next to "those sticks of which we do not speak". Nice call!

Never had a Pinar before,
but that Glenlivet looks really good.

The flavor stayed consistant all the way down. I did find a nice stem in there and once removed the draw opened up quite a bit, almost too much. I had a hell of a time keeping it lit until I pulled the stem.

The Pinar 2000 has Ecuadorian filler and binder with (what's said to be) a pre-embargo wrapper. If you can find any of the Pinar 3000's, they are said to be 100% pre-embargo Cuban.

It's been a while since I've had either so I can't comment on the cigar. Back then I was just getting into cigars but at the time I thought they were great.
