R&R with the Phoenix
Had to try a Phoenix cigar Drac sent me.
I paired this cigar with a Bud Light Beer with a dash of Twang! It paired up great because the beer would clean my palate and help me detect the flavors of the cigar even better! The construction on the cigar was good. Wrapper was very dark and firm. The cigar was packed and rolled nicely. The pre-light smell on the foot was of very strong tobacco, with a hint of chocolate. I would give the construction an 8. It did not crack or unravel when I clipped it! The draw was firm and a little tight, but still produced a lot of smoke! The first inch started out strong and a little spicy. The taste was a little off for me but as I started to get into it, I got hints of cocoa bean and a coffee. It reminded me of a Rocky Patel OWR Maduro. By the time it got to the middle section the tastes of leather started to show.This was the cigars sweet spot!  ibble:The last part of the cigar started to get very strong. The 3 taste I described above, stayed constant to the end. The burn was good too. I had to rotate it to get it to stay straight at one point but nothing to cry about.  Over all this cigar was good! I have no Idea what these cigars cost but I would buy them again. I do know that this is a house brand that Scott at Smoke Signals Cigar Shop in New York carries. Rocky Patel blended these for them I believe so you know this is a good cigar! I think I see a box of Petite Belicosos in my humidor in the future! Thanks again Drac for the great gift! nice review. i've heard of the Phoenix but never indulged myself with trying one. you've helped change my mind as i will be trying one in the future. thanks

i was excited....because i thought it was stella!
nonetheless, seems like a great night. I;m enjoying a well aged Oliva O Bold that Sam sent me. let me know what you think of the MB's when you get a chance to smoke them!
