Explain this to me .......
So i thinks i found the problem, i just dont know how to explain it. Plain ol beads, ordered from CI about 3 weeks ago. they were wrecking havoc on my humi so i capped the jar and started using humi packs, and everything settled down, right at 69-70%.
This am i grabbed the jar of beads (did not refill or change them at all) placed them in a tupperware container with the TESTED hydrometer, it is -2%, thus the +2 sticker on it. WTF are these beads doing? 88% why would they be over humidifing? am i doing a bad test? doing something wrong? These beads came pre-watered, could there be an issue with the beads? Is there a better way to test them? they have the same light/heat/location as the humi that is doing great now btw. help and thanks Happy smoking -jon- |

Possible way too much H2O--Beads are supposed to only have slight water so they can also absorb moisture --Maybe yours are saturated????

I had problems with the gel also and got the beads instead.

All that needs to be said. I was having humi problems myself at first. Went out and got these fixed the problem right up over night almost

Jdogg,
How big is the area the jar says it is good for? 100 count, 50 count? The area you have that jar in might be way to small for the amount of humidity it produces. |

I wouldn't do that. What I have done with much success is put them in a shallow tupperware or plastic container and us a blow dryer on a low setting and aim it just above the beads. Word of advice though....unless you like picking the little buggers up off the floor, do not aim the hair dryer directly at the beads. They become very airborne when they are dry!
