Nub event in Houston this past Saturday 9/26/09

Well Sam had his tour this past Saturday in Houston and it was awesome. I was so worried I wasn't going to make it but put every effort into getting there. I was a couple hours late but we stayed past the ending time anyway so it was all cool.

So with out going into to much detail I will add why it was hard to make it. Between work and family I was up from 1 PM Friday till I got to the event at 730 PM Saturday and had just gotten back from driving to and from San Antonio for a wedding. So I had been up 30 plus hours. Once I got there and light a cigar I was good to go.

When I got there Sam was busy rolling a very very detailed cigar for the CigarChick, a lady that runs a blog about cigars. The crowd was packed around his table but I was able to get a few shots of him doing his work.





Focused on what he was doing he didn't see me taking the pics or notice I was there. While he was busy with that I chatted with Jeff (the local Oliva rep and a great guy) then got me some of the Gentleman Jack they had on hand (was able to get like 4 of them before they ran out). When Sam was putting on the final touches of the cigar and the crowd was wooing over it I said out loud "Anybody can do that" which made Sam look up to see who the Ahole was, then I got a big grin and a how the hell are you. Was classic!

I didn't get to many pics of the event (some of me rolling a cigar, another post), got a few of Sam with the band. I bought a box and got the goodie bag but didn't take any pics of it.

The event was great, Sam always brings it and it was at a great B&M. Which he would come to town every quater. Hopefully next year can hang out with him longer, BSing and learning cigars, thats always the best part!

I Love living in Alaska but we just don't quite get the same amount of Nub events as in Houston. LOL

Looks cool as hell. I need to get to one of those events sometime.

I attended one of these events awhile back lots of fun! Thanks for sharing the pic's. I took some pictures at the event I attended but they all turned out crappy. Someday I will master the art of point and shoot photography!

Looks like a great event. Have a golf trip planned in a couple of weeks to Houston. Really need to check this place out. Looks awsome. Do you have to be a member of the B&M? Our local puts on a couple of these for members and then some are open to the public.
