Calle Ocho
So I took a drive down to Calle Ocho yesterday (9/27/09) to see if I could find some stuff you dont see in every B&M and I found some stuff I am excited to try.
Heres some pics of what I got. First I went to the Padilla factory, where a very beautiful young lady helped me. They were very friendly there, and the prices were great. I picked these three up for 15 bucks!!   The rest of these are all local. Although not all of them are rolled locally they are all local brands as far as I was told. The barber pole is rolled right here in Little Havana, its one small shop owned by Cuban refugess who fled during the revolution. it was great to hear this families story. The two on the left are both pure Nicaraguan, and the two on the right are rolled by a man who owns a clothing store and cigars are his passion. The one with the gem in the band, his wife rolls.   All in all it was a good day, alot of stuff was closed cause it was Sunday, so I will be sure to go down again soon on a Saturday. Maybe this weekend!!!

I lived in Central Florida most of my life, & I only have been to Miami twice, believe it or not! Unexceptable in my opinion...
I still have alot of family in Florida, so next time I'm down, I'll have to jump on the Bee-Line & head down there. I'd love to visit Calle Ocho!  |
