Tudor Cigar?

Any Forum members had any experience, positive or negative, with Tudor Cigar . com?

I made two orders, payed with by ******, one of the 25th of March and one on the 28th. They charged $6+ for shipping so I assumed that I might get my smokes within 10 days. Well, when I asked them the status of my orders via e-mail yesterday, they said they would check and get back. Never heard back. E-mailed again today..."Oh, we're still checking" ,and provided their customer service number...it's a fax.

How hard can it be to check and see if they processed my order? They certainly processed my payment quickly. I have asked them to give me the status by tomorrow or refund my money. I guess if I get a hard time I will have to go through all the red tape with ******.

If anyone has used this site, please let me know how it went for you..Thanks!

Talking Re: Tudor Cigar?

I haven't, but will relate a similar experience...

I while back, I order a case of wine online. Kept expecting a shipping confirmation email and don't get one. Call once to find out, amassured it is about to ship. Wait a few days, hear nothing. Call again, similar story.
A few days later, Fedex pulls up and has two boxes for me. I comment to the driver "wow, those boxes don't look like they hold 6 bottles. Looks more like 12". We both shrug.

Take them inside and sure enough I had been sent 2 cases.
I'm ripshit that they had not only been slow but had now screwed up my order. But then I calm down enough to think "well, let's see if they charge my cc twice". So I proceed to wait a couple of days. The next day (I think), Fedex rings again, they have another box for me. Bring it in, it's a third exact copy of my order.

Keep waiting and eventually a single charge shows up on my statement.
Normally I would tell the company but they screwed with me enough that I didn't feel bad keeping the extra

Re: Tudor Cigar?

I am just amazed that a company can get two ****** payments and not have any idea if the cigars have been shipped or not 12 days later...well, I'll see what they say (or don't say) tomorrow.

Re: Tudor Cigar?

Update: I got an e-mail today from Tudor as well as a full ****** refund. They were very cordial and said they were sorry and were sending out a couple cigars as an apology. I'm still not sure why my order was never processed, but at least I have the money back to buy some smokes

Thanks Frank, I am too....and actually the guy was real decent. He said he had a GM who screwed up numerous orders, and that he let the guy go. He said to wait another week if I wanted to give the site another try as he was sorting it all out himself. I may give him another try because of the ultimately good response.

Could be this place is a kitchen table operation and they have to wait until they get orders for your product request or the place they drop ship through didn't have the product. I hear this a lot with some of the vendors that offer very low price. mb

I just looked over this site and nowhere is there an address or phone number. This should tell you something. mb

Re: Tudor Cigar?

Hi Uncle Mikey...maybe you are right, I will e-mail them before I take another chance, if I do at all.

On a side note, got the promised free cigars today. A HdM Dark Sumatra, a Partagas Black Label, and a Macunudo.

It is a positive note that you did get the free cigars. In my business I drop ship for about 200 customers that don't inventory merchandise. I do inventory a large amount of product so I know that the folks that work with me can service their clients. I don't know much about this guy except as you tell us you got the freebees and that does say something about them. Just understand it is easy to keep a few boxes around or if this guy does have a small store he might just take a couple off the shelf but may also be too small to keep all the lines he advertises so he relies upon someone else to send the cigars out for him. If they are out of stock or don't want to carry that line anylonger everyone gets screwed. mb

I have learned that the internet is an interesting business. When I opened my site I had merchandise in stock and ready to go. Since then I have been contacted by hundreds of vendors that don't stock anything but drop ship everything they sell. This can be a convenient way to make money if one is able to rely upon his/her drop shipper. I have a loyal following of drop ship clients because I deliver goods when ordered. If you read the disclaimer on the site Tudor mentions that they ship within 5-7 days of an order. Not Good. This should be the signal that they don't stock merchandise and have to hunt it down. Orders placed on an internet site should go out within 48 hours from the placement of the order or there should be an email explaining why. This applies to anything you may order in the future wheather it be cigars or tent pegs. mb

You're absolutely right, sounds like you have it pegged. It's funny though, some of their prices (for example, check out a box of Partagas Black Magnificos) seem to be lower than most vendors I've checked. How would he be able to offer prices lower than the other sites, because he gets a quantity discount maybe?

Thanks again for your help Uncle Mikey.

It isn't that he gets a quantity discount it is more likely that since he doesn't have a store or stock merchandise he is willing to make $5.00 a box and is hopping for volume. However, if he can't deliver it is because he can't buy the item in time to make his deliveries and that will in time effect his customers who won't care that they can get it cheaper. If you are an opportunity buyer then you can wait until he can get the cigars. If you want delivery you have to pay a bit more and know you are dealing with a reputable vendor. It all depends upon what you want when you order. mb
