All you need to do is just cut the cap off. Literally, shave as little off as possible and test the draw. I only cut off more if the draw is hard.

Take off as thin a slice as you can.
If you need to take more off you can but once you take too much off you can't put it back.

Ah thank you! I'm just starting out obviously, and up until now I've just had White Owls, which come pre-punched, and I just got myself a cheap little cutter today and decided to practice with those so I dont mess up a good cigar!

Until you get used to it:

1. Open your cutter and put it on a flat surface. (table)
2. Put the end of your cigar through the cutter, so that the cigar end is touching the flat surface.
3. Quickly snip!
