cao mx2 belicoso

should i age my cao mx2 belicoso before smoking it? ive heard that they may need a bit of aging.

If you picked it up in a retail store, it probably has some age to it already. You could smoke it now if you wanted.

I've never had a CAO from a store not be ready to smoke when I got home. Try it and see what you think. I like the robustos, myself.

i would let it sit a week at normal humidity levels to dry out. some shops have their humidors overhumidified.

IHT's dead on........the only problem I generally have with mainstream domestics (CAO, Punch, Camacho, etc., etc., etc.) right from the store or off the truck is they are too wet.

I usually smoke one right away becasue I'm fairly impatient..........then I put em' down for a reasonable nap (month or two).

To answer your question, if you're good at gauging a cigar's wetness/dryness by feel and sound (slightly squeezing the foot to see if it bounces back with that slight "crackle"), I would smoke it right away if it's not too wet. If not, put it down for a while to be safe.
