Has anyone tried to fiddle with bad sticks?

I've got a few cheapo's that I don't mind messing up, so I've put them in an old box with some Khalua's that I had laying around.

I'm wondering if ,in time ,that the nice coffee accents of the Khalua's will rub off on the Double Happiness. I've heard lots of people on here say you should keep flavored and natural sticks seperate. I'm just curious if anyone has tried this.

If not, I'll let you know how it works out. You never know, it might be a way to add a little spark to an otherwise bland smoke.

IMHO, the probability is that you'll only make them even worst than they were!

I don't care for flavored "good" cigars .... I can't fathom why I would want a flavored bad one.

Sounds nasty. I have a funny feeling the only thing you are going to end up with is a crappy stick with hints of kaluha.
Only flavored cigars I can stand are Acid Blondie and Natural Dirt.

Re: Has anyone tried flavoring bad cigars?

The problem with flavoring a bad cigar is taht it is still a bad cigar. Think Swisher. Bad cigar with flavor. Putting purfume on poop is still poop. That is all you are doing. A decent cigar with flavor isn't bad. I like the Ashton with congac dip or a CAO flavor, but they are good cigars to start.

I'm going to have to agree with others. The only way you are going to improve a bad cigar is to totally cover the flavor of it. Even with heavily flavored cigars, you can still taste the tobacco. Who knows you may stumble onto something... Good luck!

Eh, I put some Hamilton House cigars in my Acid humidor for three years. Now they are well aged, funny smelling, crappy cigars.

I tend to agree with this. You will probably suceed in infusing the cigar, but the tobacco you are starting with is crap. The premium flavored cigars all start with top notch tobacco, and then infuse it with whatever. I think you will end up with a whiskey flavored turd, but you never know until you try. The 2 profiles mixing might be the the bomb (or a rocket ).

Re: Has anyone tried flavoring bad cigars?

Well, here's the thing. The reviews on the Double Happiness I got from cigarbid weren't that bad, some people enjoyed it. So it may not that bad of a cigar. I tried one and found that the flavor was bland and had a bit of an aftertaste. I was going to age the ones I had left to see if this went away. Maybe it's a dog rocket, maybe it just needs some time.

So has anyone tried this with an OK cigar? I was also thinking about dropping one with the Kuba Kuba's.

The end result will probably be the same. Poor tobacco=poor cigar.

Of course that little experiment with the whiskey would be fun, I do like a nice glass of Crown Royal.

Re: Has anyone tried flavoring bad cigars?

Hmmm... I wonder what steaming the cigars with distilled water and whiskey would do? Muhahahahahah.... it's like Frankengar! Or maybe steaming a piece of cedar with the same mixture and putting with the cigars.

I'd like to stick a 5er of Cremosas in with a pile of vomit and see what wonders can be done to the smokes.

Re: Has anyone tried flavoring bad cigars?

I had a Helix Maduro today, that I think may have already had the vomit treatment.
