Anyone else like Reo's?

I would like to do a search for Reo, but it is under the four-letter search limit. I got hooked on these after I tried one from a sampler and promptly ordered a bundle of the Robustos through c-bid. Outstanding construction and great looks/flavor to me for under $2 a stick. I enjoy a lot of the budget Rocky Patel brands like Indian Tabac and Vibe, but I think this is my favorite. Well, I also like the Sun Grown and Vintage 2nd's for a bit more, but these are very enjoyable.

Anyone else smoke Reo's out there?

Re: Anyone else like Reo's?

I like them for a cheap, everyday smoke.

Well constructed, good draw and a decent, (if not complex) flavor profile.

Re: Anyone else like Reo's?

Cheap? Hmmmmm.....my local B&M who I think is reasonably priced sells them for $5 to $6 ea. Not a low budget smoke to me.

I found 'em to be ok when I smoked 'em , but I find so many that are much better for the same or less money. For example - Rocky Patel Edge Torpedo - $5.50.

I only had one before, but I really enjoyed and would not turn down another.

Re: Anyone else like Reo's?

A box just came in yesterday from cbid, the trade I did for the ones on Joe Cigar did not last long. Now that you mention it, one is bruning on the porch. A cold rainy morning, and the box is coronas, and the first one lacked the spicyness of the robustos. I see $39 for a mazo of 20 on CI, have to get some of them, they rocked.

Recently while visiting my brother in Colorado Springs we sat out by the fire pit to have a smoke and chose the REO, looked good, well constructed. We both lit up and smoked about an inch and then decided they needed much time in the humidor and offered them up to the fire god's (burned them in the fire pit). I have never done this before but I seldom visit my brother in Colorado so we went and got new cigars, him a Padrom 1964 Principe and me a LFD Insurrecto. We figured life is too short and the REO would wait for us intil next time.

A note on doing searches, for words under 4 characters use asteriks on either sides of the word, like this *REO*. I know it does not seem intuitive like quotes, but it works and that is what counts. Unfortunately you will get words like reorder but I am sure you can sort through them. You didn't really think that CS would not be able to handle a 3 character search did you?

I am looking forward to trying another REO soon.

Nope, I'm pretty sure this won’t work the way you think. For example, a search on *reo* will pull up "reo's" and "reorder" but it missed my thread of a year or so ago REO Robusto. I believe that the reason is because the search function uses a database of keywords of length 4 and longer and links to the posts and thread titles in which they appear. If the database included all the three letter words, particularly “and”, “but”, “the”, etc., the database would be unmanageably big.

BTW, I have a partial box of REO torps I bought a year or so ago which I would be willing to let go for a decent price if anyone's interested.

I quess it was an early morning phantom search. When I put the link in my post I could have sworn it was working. Thanks CG for setting me straight.

Poor little CAO she will never be found. What will ever become of REO, lost on the CS data base?

You can still find all 4 threads with titles containing REO by searching "REO Robusto". I checked this link before psoting and it did work but I am so confused now. ....But happy.

Re: Anyone else like Reo's?

I got one from BigFrank, that I think he said had been resting in a cedar tray for about 6 months. I smoked it when I was down in TN for the Old Crow Concerts and I thought it was damn good. So good that every time I go and do some "paper work" and pick up the CI catalog with REO on the cover I think, "I have to get me some."

I have a couple of bundles sitting in the humi. Good cigar for the money.

Agreed, but at the sub-$2 bundle or cbid price I think they are hard to beat.

Interesting. The first one I tried had been in the humi for about six weeks, the subsequent ones I had last week had at least two months, so maybe that helped. I have only tried the Robusto size so far.

Re: Anyone else like Reo's?

The first one I had came in a sampler and sat in my humi for about 2 weeks before I tried it. It was good. Then I saw a deal at CI where you got a bundle for free with the purchase of a box of the Vibe Corojo. I took the plunge and put the bundle and the box in my cooler. I just counted. I have 5 Reo's left and 10 of the Vibe's. To my palate (which is all I really care about) the Reo is definitely better than the Vibe.

Do I like other cigars better? Yep. I prefer Pancho Sanchez Double Maduro and the CAO MX2's but I'll be buying another bundle or box of the Reo's.
