cigar purchasing

A friend of mine told me to order cigars from www.cheapercigars.com, is this site a good place to order from? After going to a local tobacco retailer they said you have to be very careful what sites you order from, may get old or bad cigars from online retailers. I am looking to order some ACID cigars(yes im an extremely new cigar smoker and i love the taste of them heh)

If this is in the wrong forum please move it for me, this seemed like the best place to post this, thanks

Re: cigar purchasing

I`ve not used them before. I do order from a couple of other online shops however. Sometimes the gars are a bit dry when they arrive. Just put them in your humi for a week or so. `Old Cigars` that sounds like a line to my newbie ears. If they are kept properly humidified, they shoud be fine. As you read, you will find MANY people who wont touch a stick until it sets around for months. Bad gars can happpen from anyplace. They are a natural product and made by people. Thats whats nice about cigars. I`d give them a try. See for yourself how the service and quality are. Maybe just buy a sampler or some singles to try.

Re: cigar purchasing

While I've never used this particular site, their prices don't seem too out of line.
I do, however, buy probably 99% of my stuff on line.
Famous-Smoke.com, cigarbid.com and CigarsInternational.com get most of my business out of that.

Agreed. I do frequent my local B&M and support them quite a bit, but nothing beats online prices plus I get to dodge our wonderfully high Colorado taxes by picking up boxes and the like online.

Oh and beware of cigarbid.com and CigarsInternational.com....once you visit you will be hooked. CI has a thing called Joe's daily deal that will force you to make many weekly purchases that you didn't want or need hahaah!

Re: cigar purchasing

Alot of people start out smoking perfume...uh, um, i mean......Acids.
I have never used the vendor you speak of but you did go the correct route by asking here. I have learned about alot of very reputable vendors on CS.
I started out (in May) with Famous and thought they were GREAT. Especially with their build a 5 pack feature where you can pick 5 different sticks and the least expensive one is free. Boy, I should bill them for this testimonial. They also have an auction section.
Go with CigarBid (CBid ie., "The Devil Site") they are good also.

As for the B&M telling you to watch out. But of course you should ....for bad B&M's , for bad online vendors.....for bad people.....

Good luck in your ventures and you are on your way to being poor.

Re: cigar purchasing

Dont know about cheapercigars.com, but I can tell you I wont deal with bestcigarprices.com again. The box of Cuesta-Rey I ordered from them came in VERY dry. Still not rehydrated after 2 months in the humidor.

Re: cigar purchasing

I have bought from them before. No problems, sticks arrived timely in great shape. Like almost every vendor, prices are great for some things and so-so for others. It pays to shop around.

Enjoy,

Thats a silly statement for a B/M to make, online cigars are no different than the ones sitting on his shelves with the exception of the price $, ordering online has nothing to do with getting bad cigars, it has all to do with using a good vendor and finding good prices, they arent hard to find here at CS, I've ordered hundreds of cigars online.. from several vendors and knock on wood I've always been pleased.

oh yeah "old cigars" the retailer mentioned, They can be a good thing.....
