Question Does size really matter?

As a new cigar smoker, I was wondering how much ring size really effects the flavor/taste of a cigar. For example, If I'm reading a review on a lancero, how closely would the taste, strength, etc. follow in a robusto in the same cigar?

I apologize if this has been answered in a previous post. Thanks.

Re: Does size really matter?

The size has a lot to do with it, imo. The wrapper plays a big part in addition to the the filler. The more wrapper versus filler, the larger the role, I believe, in some cases. Keep in mind, I am speaking in generalities here. The blend has a lot to do with it as well. So, different sized cigars, may have different blends as well as a different wrapper to filler ratio. I have given you a direction to go if you choose to search around. I know this topic has been discussed in a much more detailed manner.

Well, the average is 5", so I say if it's bigger than that you're okay,...... wait,... what are we talking about?

On a serious note, it always seemed that smaller cigars had more concentrated flavors which I prefer.

I think it's personal preference. It depends how much time you have an how long you want to enjoy a certain blend.

OK, all BS aside, yes size does matter. More so with some lines than others too. Certain lines of cigars will have alot of difference in flavor from size to size, others not as much. I recently did a size comparison between a corona and a belicoso from the same line and there were only subtle differences. Although the general flavors were similar, there was a little more "oomph" in the belicoso.
