The Egg

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried "The Egg" from Drew estate. I have had one for quite a while but always delay smoking it because I have no idea how long it might take to enjoy. I would hate to start and not be able to finish.

If you have no idea what I am talking about here is a photo of one.

User "drevim" is the resident Egg expert, he has smoked dozens of them. He should chime in here as soon as he logs on.

Re: The Egg

I am pretty sure it was just under 12 bucks. I have no idea if it was a good price or not. Drew estate cigars were what pretty much got me into smoking cigars and I always remembered seeing the egg on their website. And was curious about it. So when I saw one in the store I had to buy one.

Re: The Egg

I like the Drew Estate cigars, but getting on this forum has gotten me away from them a little. Nice looking cigar, understandable that it may take a while to smoke and trying to figure out just how to smoke it. Let us know how it goes?

Re: The Egg

I bought one also as a novelty, and I am not sure if I will ever smoke it or not. But from what I hear it is a nightmare to keep lit once you get to the largest ring gauge portion of the cigar. I heard someone a few years ago on the old C-Bid forum say that it took them over 2 hours to smoke, and an entire lighter of butane to re-light time and time again.

Good Luck!

If you smoke it, post some pics and your review.

Pretty much the same reason I bought it...every time I saw it on the drew estate website it made wonder. I pretty much figured that it was going to take about 2 hours or so to smoke. I guess I will try to make a point to light it up this weekend and bring the digital camera along.

Re: The Egg

One of the guys at our herf this past weekend was gonna fire one up, but no one had the time to wait with him if it took over 1 1/2 hours, so he put it off until the next time.

Re: The Egg

I smoked one on a dare at another pass-orientated site. Did a full pic review, but i'll sum up here: worst cigar I have ever smoked. Truly the stuff of nightmares. This was after quite a bit of rest too.
