digital hyrometer

Looking for reccommendations as to which digital hygrometers work best. I have had problems with $20 variety in the past. I have 1 diamond crown dig that works great, but does not display temp. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Re: digital hyrometer

I've had good luck with both of these (slight price break at humidorauctions store on eBay).

I can't say they are better or worse than some more expensive ones I've owned, but the more expensive ones didn't have the max/min setting capability.

Radio Shack puts out a great one for $49 that is remote and can have two additonal units added to it for multiple locations.

The "Little Havana" that Holt's and Bargain sells is the best I've ever used, besides the CMT Habitat Monitor made for larger applications.

Outdoor temperature range from –25°F to 140°F
3 temperature & humidity channels capability (additional sensors required)
Illuminated with HiGlo™ electroluminescent backlight
Remote sensor has up to 100-foot transmission using 433MHz frequency
Wall mount or desk top display options
Batteries not included: Requires 2 AA (main unit) 2 AAA (remote)

Re: digital hyrometer

I just purchased the one below on ebay for $19.95. It's an Oregon Scientific also. According to the part numbers, you can use the Radio Shack remote sensor with these. It comes in tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it works out.

I use this as well as the digitals I mentioned above, based on recommendations from BOTLs here. I use the three sensor units in two 300 ct desktops and a coolidor. I love this thing. The only thing I would like added would be support for additional sensors (over the 3). Got mine from http://www.thenerds.net

http://www.thenerds.net/index.php?pa...3d44e3dfed4ad5
http://www.thenerds.net/index.php?pa...3d44e3dfed4ad5

The additional 2 sensors were almost as much as the base unit each, but so worth it.

I have two of these and I think they work great. Both of mine read 1% low on the humidity, are very small and come with a magnetic strip that attaches to the underside of the humi lid. Oh, and they are cheap.

Check the part numbers. I was looking for an extra sensor from O.S. and just happened to look at Radio Shack. Same part number. So, "in theory" it will work. I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: digital hyrometer

I got one of these, and the accuracy is dead on for both temperature and humidity, it reads one point higher than my CMT Habitat Monitor(the best monitor you can get, but like said before, it's for bigger applications). This guys has the best deal cause he includes a free spare battery. I got mine from him:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...192076898&rd=1
