RP Vintage 1999 Connecticut vs RP Connecticut
My dad is a fan of the Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Connecticut. On cigar.com and Cigars International, they sell the Rocky Patel Connecticut, which has a different band from the Vintage 1999 Connecticut, and they're quite a bit cheaper. Is it the same cigar with a different band? If not, what's the difference?
Thanks! |

Re: RP Vintage 1999 Connecticut vs RP Connecticut
Not positive but I'm assuming the 1999 is using a aged wrapper vs the regular Connecticut
P.S. I like the 1999 much more

Re: RP Vintage 1999 Connecticut vs RP Connecticut
1999's: Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 cigar has a perfectly-balanced blend of Dominican & Nicaraguan longfiller tobaccos - all aged 7 years - highlighted by a mild, 1999-vintage Connecticut wrapper. The cigars are aged 120 days after rolling, and unlike the Rocky Patel Vintage '90 & '92, are NOT box-pressed.

Re: RP Vintage 1999 Connecticut vs RP Connecticut
Very different cigar, imo. The RP Connecticut is much better than the 1999. I think the 99's are rather bland and flat whereas the Conn has some depth and has lots of flavor. Keep in mind, taste is subjective.

Interesting, thanks for the info! Are they both about the same as far as nicotine content goes? He gets buzzed and uncomfortable pretty easily, so I don't want to recommend that he try one if it'll kick him in the chops.

Re: RP Vintage 1999 Connecticut vs RP Connecticut
They're both pretty tame with the nicotine content, so he should be fine. I myself prefer the Connecticut to the 99, which I found boring. They're both fairly mild smokes, and I like to have a Connecticut with a nice cup of coffee. I find it to be a good pairing.
